Volvo V60 is a mid—range station wagon produced by the Swedish automaker Volvo Cars since May 2010, the car is built on the Ford EUCD platform (shares it with Ford Mondeo, Galaxy and S-Max, Land Rover Freelander and older Volvo models) and is equipped with one of four gasoline or four diesel engines. In 2021, the second generation of the car is being produced, which has been sold in Israel since 2018.
Once there was even such a term — "Volvo driver", because Volvo station wagons were considered cars for pensioners and housewives because of their special, sedate temperament. But after the launch of the Volvo V-series, they stopped being inferior to family cars of other brands, and in some ways even surpassed them. Volvo, which stood at the origins of the "universal" movement, adheres to the classical canons even today. The main one is the increased capacity of the luggage compartment. And it depends not only on the tonnage, but also on the actual geometry of the cargo compartment: the height of the ceiling and longitudinal section, protruding wheel arches. The Swedes take all these points into account, so even the transportation of furniture items in their station wagon will not cause difficulties.
The first generation
It was produced from 2010 to 2018, having been restyled in 2014. The first Volvo V60 is a real middle—class car: length — 4628 mm, width — 1865 mm, height — 1484 mm. The trunk is 430 liters. After the transformation of the rear row of seats, it tripled to 1,307 liters. The clearance is only 13.6 cm.
In favor of practicality, not only the large volume of the luggage compartment spoke: the headrests of the rear seats were removed using an electric drive, and when folding the seats, the driver received an absolutely flat floor. It is also important that not only the rear seat could be removed, but also the front seat, which made it possible to transport all kinds of "long meters".
